System Restore helps you restore your computer's system files to an earlier point in time. Typically, you want to restore your computer to a restore point that was created just before the date and time when you started noticing problems. The descriptions of the restore points that are created automatically correspond with the name of an event, such as Windows Update installing an update. Windows 8 Restore:

1.From the Windows 8 Start screen, type "Restore." The top result in the right-side Search panel should be "Create a restore point." Even though that's not what we're doing today, that's the choice you want to make. It opens the Control Panel to the Systems Properties dialog's System Protection tab
2. Tap the first button on that property sheet: System Restore. This opens a wizard-like dialog, the first page of which says "Restore system files and settings" Here you get another chance to see which programs will be lost and gained. Tap "Next."
you'll see a dialog with a choice of system restore points.

In the search box, type System Restore, and then, in the list of results, click System Restore.‍ Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
